Here is a short story board of the Build Day/Workshops on 9th April 2015
The wood has been recycled from a garden in Blackheath. 3 men in sheds volunteers spent two days dismantling the wood and transporting it over to Penge. The cost to us was simply the van hire and petrol We had previously priced up the wood in the region of £900.
On the morning of the 9th April the men unloaded the wood and mocked up the layout for the beds; ensuring there was wheelchair access on all sides.
Workshops ran throughout the day, planned and facilitated by some of our core volunteers. Children and adults enjoyed making the Eco pots and painting art work to decorate the sides of the beds.
We owe great thanks and appreciation to the Amazing Team of Men in Shed volunteers who not only turned up on the 9th, but also did some much work behind the scenes to resource the materials and transport them first to Penge, and then upto Anerley on the day.
